Tactile paintings at MNART

The collection brings together ten works of art reinterpreted in an accessible format, to be felt both with the eyes and the hands. Each work tells its story through raised textures, but also empty space. There are 10 works in various styles by Romanian painters, from portraits to landscapes spanning more than two centuries. It is a collection of diversity through textures, the dynamism of the image and the message of the painter.

The image is a poster composed of several fragments of colorful paintings, placed side by side vertically, forming a diverse and vivid background. Each strip presents a part of a different painting: on the left is a section with a man painted in dark colors, a fragment of the work “The Accordionist” by Corneliu Baba; next is an area with a blue ceramic vase, with a traditional pattern, and a sunflower, a fragment of the work “The Sunflower” by Theodor Pallady; then appears a scene with tree trunks and a house in the background, a fragment of the work “Landscape with figure” by Camil Ressu; next is the face of a child with a light-colored bonnet, a fragment of the work “Child's head” by Nicolae Tonitza; and on the right is a section with carnations in shades of pink and red, a fragment of the work “Flowers” by Ștefan Luchian. Above this composition, large, white, pictorial letters are placed in the center, which say: “Tactile Paintings at MNArT”. At the bottom, several logos of institutions and projects appear: Tactile Library, West University of Timișoara, Continental, Timiș County Council and the National Museum of Art Timișoara (MNArT). The entire image is framed by a thin white frame, with rounded corners, which gives it an elegant poster look.
